The Code: protecting children from sex tourism

CWF is proud to announce we are now a member of The Code.

The Code of Conduct for the Protection of Children from Sexual Exploitation in Travel and Tourism is an industry-driven initiative with the mission to provide awareness, tools and support to the tourism industry to prevent the sexual exploitation of children.

As an organisation that relies on hundreds of international volunteers to deliver our English language classes, we’ve always been committed to ensuring the volunteers we invite to Cambodia are suitably checked and will uphold our values. We’ve had a Child Protection policy and Codes of Conduct for volunteers since we were established for this reason, and membership of the The Code will enable us to strengthen these policy and procedures, with resources and partners both in Cambodia and abroad to ensure CWF staff and volunteers receive training of the risks associated with child sex tourism and child abuse.
