The long term projects

Lataste : the house-hold school

The Lataste School in Northern Cambodia acts as a household for children who have been abused or come from poor families. With the help of Teuksaat, as well as many donations, Volunteer in Cambodia helps the school financially, so that students can receive an education from primary school to University and take control of their own future!

Donation to Teuksaat

As Teuksaat improves the lives of the Khmer people by lowering the cost of water supplies, Volunteer in Cambodia lends a hand to the people living in rural areas by constructing water tanks in many of the provinces. There are already more than 60 kiosks throughout the countryside with plans for more to make clean water accessible to all!

The organic farm of ASA

Based in Phnom Penh, the organic farm is about providing good quality and local produce for Khmer people. With the rise of supermarket chains, urban pollution and poor food knowledge about healthy eating, ASA’s project is part of a bigger change for Phnom Penh, to encourage a modern lifestyle whilst still eating healthily.

The mangroves forest

Eco-tourism is one of the best ways to protect nature and her resources! Volunteer in Cambodia has invested in the CWDCC project to help develop the eco-activities in the mangrove forest in the Kampot province, famous for its natural setting and peppercorn farms.

The short term projects

The school garden

We have a primary school that sits nextdoor to our English School. The children of some of our staff were even students there! As an act of friendship, VIC has financed a garden for the school to help educate the children about how plants grow!

The soccer field

In rural Kampong Thom, a province north of Phnom penh, Volunteer in Cambodia has sponsored a soccer field for children to play in. Projects such as this one help to improve the quality of life for Khmer people, as they work to instil good values in children such as team work, health and fitness, as well as building community spirit!
